May I ask what your thoughts on the first episode of the first branch are? Is it, do you think, a distinct episode grafted on to the tale of Pwyll with seams still showing, or do you think it's as much organically a part of Pwyll's story as any other part of the first branch? My first-ever published article argued for the former, but I'm aware it does share points of connection with the rest of the Mabinogi, e.g. the pigs, and Pwyll's epithet. I'd be interested in your thoughts.
