That sounds very likely. In that case the way I felt on the Friday was probably me already on the downhill slope.
I'm definitely leaning towards "mild" pertussis. I've had bad coughs in the past, including one that lasted for three months and had the doctor checking me out for TB and only ended after four weeks at the seaside (the doctor thought that might fix it and it did) but nothing like this one since I was four.
