I could do with three days of no TV, Radio or Internet. I feel swamped at the moment!

Fate is strange. Be thankful you were going slow and missed the accident. A couple of years ago my son and 4 other doctors were travelling in a minibus to Scotland for team building at a consultant's house. They took turns driving. When it was Ben's turn he had only been at the wheel a few minutes on a very quiet road and somehow clipped the kerb on a bend, as I'm sure thousands have done with no consequence. He hadn't been going fast or even chatting. The minibus shot across the road and hit a vehicle with a couple in it who were on holiday. It's possible the tyre burst when he clipped the kerb although investigations couldn't say one way or the other that's when it happened. The lady passenger was killed (a death complicated by her unsecured electric scooter shooting forward into her and being unable to airlift her to hospital quick enough as they needed a larger capacity helicopter). His 4 colleagues had minor injuries and Ben was uninjured. He kept her alive until the medics arrived and tended to her injured husband. If either vehicle had been going just a couple of mph faster or slower they would have missed each other and Ben probably would have skidded to a bumpy halt on the grassy verge. If the tyre hadn't burst, if the scooter had been secured, if they'd sent the larger helicopter to start with.....I'm just thankful my son was okay.

It's sounds a very "interesting" trip that you had :)
