The situation is that I have for decades been writing a historical novel set in the late 5th century, intended to be the first of several, and have finally finished it to a great extent because I finally decided where it should end and the next one start. My next task is to write the synopsis - wish me luck for that!
Good luck! I think I read part of it at an earlier stage - did you have it online somewhere? I would ask about some of the plot points but have found I can't remember anyone's names (this is a perennial problem with me - it's not that your characters aren't memorable).
I went for easy names - David and Anna. Yes, I did have an earlier version on line at one time, or at least part, but a lot of it has changed pretty drastically
Incidentally, I nearly went for Zoë as another typical Byzantine princess name. I'm rather glad I didn't as it's the name of my current dog: though it's quite appropriate as she is beautiful, self-centred and manipulative.
Ha! When sam-t asked about names, I started racking my brains, and I was pretty sure I remembered the name Anna, and I thought I remembered Zoë, but then I started second-guessing whether I was getting your book confused with your dog. Good to know my memory did not fail me. And I look forward to seeing this novel!
